Wimborne Road, Ferndown
Work on 4.3km of new cycle and walking improvements along Wimborne Road East and West in Ferndown, between Canford Bottom and Trickett’s Cross roundabouts, has now finished.
The improvements include new pedestrian and cycle crossings, junction improvements and bus route infrastructure upgrades and form part of the new sustainable travel route between Poole town centre, Ferndown and Wimborne.

Other improvements include:
- a combination of new shared use and segregated cycling and pedestrian lanes along the length of Wimborne Road West and East
- the upgrade of key bus stops along the route with new shelters and raised curbs for easier access along with real-time service information boards
- improved junctions along the length of the road, including a re-designed junction at Cobham Road
- new crossings including segregated cycle and pedestrian crossings
- improved wayfinding signage for pedestrians, cyclists and mobility scooter users.
